 This module focuses on the referee’s role during a game and how to effectively manage play on the field. It covers positioning, movement, communication with players and coaches, and maintaining control while ensuring a fair and safe environment.  Referees will learn how to apply the rules in real-time, make confident decisions, and keep the game flowing. 

Emphasis is placed on awareness, professionalism, and consistency in all on-field interactions.  This session builds on the fundamentals and helps prepare referees to step onto the field with confidence and authority.

From proper equipment and game readiness to understanding basic rules and procedures, this section ensures referees are set up for success from the start.  Referees will learn the importance of being organized, punctual, and prepared, as well as how to present themselves professionally. Attention to detail and consistency are emphasized to help build confidence and credibility on the field.  This is your foundation—know your essentials, and you’ll be ready to officiate with confidence. 

This module provides a detailed overview of the rules specific to Mini Soccer. Referees will learn how the game is structured at this level, including field setup, number of players, game flow, and key rule adaptations designed for youth development.  

Emphasis is placed on understanding the spirit of the game, applying rules appropriately, and supporting a positive, age-appropriate playing environment. Referees are expected to know these rules thoroughly and apply them with confidence and consistency.  A strong understanding of Mini Soccer rules is essential to ensuring fair play, safety, and an enjoyable experience for all participants. 

 This module covers the implementation of the One Pass Rule and introduces key strategies for managing conflict on the field. Referees will learn how to apply this rule effectively to encourage fair play, teamwork, and game flow.  In addition, this section focuses on handling challenging situations with players, coaches, and spectators. 

Emphasis is placed on communication, confidence, and maintaining control in a calm and professional manner.  Referees will gain the tools needed to de-escalate conflict, make clear decisions, and ensure a positive and respectful environment for everyone involved in the game.
