Youth House League is a community-based recreational league for players turning 5 - 14 years of age and open to all players of any skill level and ability. Our House League program, sponsored by Tim Hortons for kids under 8 and local community business for kids 9 and up, is strategically designed to offer fun and excitement to children in a team format, while supporting a healthy and active lifestyle for all players. The league focuses on soccer fitness, learning the basic soccer skills, fair and equal play time, good sportsmanship, enthusiasm and making fun memorable experiences for all. Whether you are a player, coach or referee, house league is where it all begins.
Game day will consist of a skill practice followed by an official refereed game.
We are dedicated to the development of grassroots soccer and have developed and will be implementing a common curriculum program called the SKILL Of The WEEK. It is an online training program that will assist in learning the proper techniques to develop the basic skills of soccer. This program should be viewed each week by players, parents and coaches.
Before each game, each week, the league will incorporate one of the basic skills in a SKILL OF THE WEEK Practice. The Skill of the Week will be posted online so that players, parents and coaches can view the skill and practice it prior to the skill of the week practice session. Players will then come the day of play and the skill of the week will be demonstrated with the help from our trained and knowledgeable referees, coaches and supervisors. The skill will be practiced until the referees and coaches feel that each child has a good grasp on the skill and can perform it with some degree of proficiency. Once all participants can perform the skill to a satisfactory level, the games will begin. This skill of the week practice takes place before each game and is mandatory for all participants. This ensures that all players are receiving the basic techniques needed to improve and develop further. A strong foundation will give each player the confidence and ability to advance.
You know the saying: “Practice makes perfect” - No saying could be truer when it comes to skill development in soccer. The more you practice the better you will get! We will be providing an ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAM so that you and your child can view and practice different skills and fun tricks each week. We encourage every player to use this tool and to practice each Skill Of The Week at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week. If you really want to improve, you will have to do your homework and practice your skills regularly!

We do, however believe that organized sports are a great place to learn some hard life lessons and not winning is one of them. With that being said, we do our best to make all teams as equal as possible and reserve the right to move children up until game 3 of the season if there is a huge discrepancy in team skill levels.

The Tot Shots Soccer Program solely sponsored by Tim Hortons is dedicated to the development of grassroots soccer and our littlest sprouts. The program will introduce basic skills, teamwork and sportsmanship through structured and controlled programming, preparing them to continue into youth house league or youth competitive programs. We will get their little juices flowing and inspire them to grow!
The Tot-Shots Program is a first step program designed for the little people, Boys & Girls ages 3 & 4.
This program was designed with the littles ones in mind. It is an introductory program which incorporates basic skills, fitness, game dynamics and FUN! It's about putting on a uniform and participating with their peers.
The TOT-SHOTS program begins with a four-corner team warm up directed by our enthusiastic and energetic trained program Referees. They will learn who the Referee is and what his/her job is. They will learn what to do when the referee blows his/her whistle and who to look to for instruction and help. Children will then perform basic warm up and fitness skills followed by stretching to get their little muscles warm and ready to play. Through fun games and drills, they will be taught the fundamental motor skills of basic dribbling and ball control along with other basic skills like throw ins, shooting, passing and goalie skills.
At game time, small-sided games will be played on age appropriate sized fields to allow for children to get ample touch on the ball while playing in a refereed game. The Referees will teach the rules of the game while the children play. Emphasis will be placed on active participation and good sportsmanship.
It is important to know that all children are different, and some take longer than others to fully participate in the program. Each week if your child participates more and more, it is a huge accomplishment. For those children that may need more encouragement we recommend that the parent participate with them during the warmup session. Each week we will try to lessen the parent involvement until the child becomes confident enough to participate on their own or with another volunteer.
The TOT SHOTS Program is a great way to involve your youngster in a team sport and physical activity.
