COVID-19 PROTOCOL & CHANGES TO THE GAME

WE ARE KEEPING YOU SAFE, active & healthy!

Pre-Season COVID Informed Consent Waivers are now part of the online registration waiver process.

We will also require all players to download the PowerUP Connect App so that we can complete the MANDATORY COVID-19 Check in which needs to be done before you can enter the field!  This app will fast track you through the field check in process and you can do it on your phone.

There is no limit to the number of people who can attend the field however, to help maintain 6 foot social distancing we ask that only one parent attend the fields if possible.

What this means for the 2021/2022 Indoor Fall/Winter Season:

(Please note that these are the current Ontario guidelines and can change at anytime without notice)

  • Masks are mandatory for all spectators/coaches/staff
  • Masks are not required for those players actively participating in soccer
  • Everyone must use provided hand sanitizer upon entry

What this means outdoor season:

  • Masks are optional at this point but we are asking that you wear one if you feel that social distancing could be a problem.
  • Maintain physical distancing of 6 feet at all times.
  • Players will also be required to maintain distancing as much as possible.  Referees will blow the whistle and stop games to spread children out when possible.
  • We will have extra staff and volunteers to help maintain protocol

Please continue to scroll down to reads how to upload the PowerUp Connect App  for Changes to the Game and for Facility Guidelines

Power Up Connect App - Event Check in

Changes to the Game

  • Upon entering the arena you must be wearing a mask and sign in and show your MANDATORY COVID EVENT CHECK IN - This can be accessed through your phone and the PowerUp Connect APP.
  • Games will be to 40 minutes consisting of 6  shift changes.  Skill of the week training will take place prior to the game - this will also remain online for players to practice at home.  Skill of the Week will be posted every Sunday and should be practiced three times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  •  To allow time for players to leave between games there will be 10 minutes between each game.  We ask that you leave immediately after your game has finished.
  • Walls for Free Kicks – Defender and Attacker deliberate contact is not permitted when creating a wall. After the first verbal warning, failure to comply will result in an indirect free kick to opposing team.
  • Corner kicks: Defender and Attacker deliberate contact is not permitted. After the first verbal warning, failure to comply will result in a goal kick to the defending team.
  • The drop ball requirement has been removed to reduce handling of the ball and has been converted to an indirect free kick. If the drop ball is inside the penalty area after hitting the Referee, the ball automatically goes to the Goalkeeper. The Referee leaves the ball on the ground, and the Goalkeeper picks it up..
  • No goal celebrations are permitted which incorporates physical touching.
  • With modified games compliance with social distancing rules and safety protocols must be followed.
  • When a player is injured, Match Officials may only observe and refer assistance to the applicable team bench. There is to be no Match Official contact with the player. Only the parent and/or team coach, following proper health and safety protocols may assist the injured player.
  •  There will be no handshakes or high 5’s between players, match officials, coaches before, during or after the game.
  •  It is recommended that Match Officials take the necessary safety precautions to limit the risk of infection for themselves - wearing masks are optional while officiating.
  • After games and at half time, limit your distance to two (2) meters (6 feet) from others.
  • Avoid contact with others, such as hand shaking, fist bumps and high fives.
  • Half time group refreshments will not be provided at half time.  Each parent is responsible for their own child's half time refreshment.
  • Leave the field as soon as reasonably possible after training or games.
