SKILL OF THE WEEK - CORNER KICKS

Updated Monday July 16, 2018 by Brampton North Soccer.

CORNER KICKS

A corner kick occurs when the whole of the soccer ball crosses over the goal line AND touched the defending team last!

A good corner kick doesn't just mean that the player taking the kick has good power and aim but also that the player's team members are getting open to receive the ball.

Try and in swing or out swing your kicks so they curl away from the keeper and into the center of the box.

DEFENDING CORNER KICKS

Knowing how to defend a corner kick is just as important as knowing how to take a corner kick. The most important thing to remember when defending a corner kick is to make sure you are covering a player from the opposing team!
